Prominent New York–based businessman Mr. Shah Nawaz, President and CEO of Golden Age Home Care, owner of NY Insurance, Editor of Ajkal newspaper, and Chairman of Shah Newaz Group (SNG), has been awarded the Commercially Important Person (CIP) Award under the Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) category for his significant contribution to Bangladesh’s economy through remittance inflows.   The award was conferred at a formal ceremony held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka, in the presence of Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, alongside other distinguished contributors from the export, remittance, industry, and trade sectors. According to available information, Mr. Shah Newaz was likely the only recipient from New York this year. The official CIP list is expected to be published soon.   The CIP selection process involves rigorous multi-layered verification by 13 government agencies, including NSI, DGFI, DB, SB, NBR, Bangladesh Bank, and the Bangladesh Consulate, ensuring financial transparency, integrity, and national security compliance. Final recommendations are made by the Ministry of Commerce and vetted by the Ministry of Home Affairs before cabinet approval.  The Bangladeshi community in New York has warmly congratulated Mr. Shah Nawaz on receiving one of Bangladesh’s highest commercial honors, recognizing his longstanding commitment to business excellence and community service both at home and abroad
